Daily customized weather reports for units, detailing any and all risks that pertain to weather and the environment around them. Provide units and event officials detailed pre-show briefings- for their venue at a pre-determined time giving them info on weather hazard potential, timing and likelihood of such events.
Information is shared on potential heat or cold impacts, wet-bulb globe temperature forecasts, synthetic turf temperature forecasts, wind, heat, humidity, chance of lightning or wind issues. Close attention is paid to the physical load on the performers as well as the potential impacts on gear such as props, electronics, guard accessories as well as performer rest periods, the need to shelter in hazardous weather and alerting corps and contest coordinators/event officials to any possible weather impacts to their day including travel between events. |
Show/Event forecasting and real time monitoring:
On site or remote constant monitoring for heat, lightning or wind issues using real time data. Also monitor mesoscale and storm scale atmospheric current and forecast information to give show officials the lead time they need to make critical decisions. 2022 show forecasts/monitoring included DCI Finals Week Indianapolis, Atlanta DCI Regional, NightBeat, Akron Tour of Champions, DCI Cincinnati and a dozen other venues across the U.S. Communicate constantly with show officials to ensure the show runs as safely as possible from advising alternate show times for heat to the need to evacuate a stadium for lightning with the most lead time possible. |
